Gatiap Eye Drops

Composition

  • Gatifloxacin (as Gatifloxacin Sesquihydrate) – 0.3% w/v
  • Benzalkonium Chloride (preservative) – 0.01% w/v
  • Sterile Aqueous Base – q.s.

Description

Gatiap Eye Drops contain Gatifloxacin, a fluoroquinolone antibiotic used to treat bacterial eye infections. It works by inhibiting bacterial DNA replication, helping to stop the growth and spread of infection. It is commonly prescribed for conditions like bacterial conjunctivitis.

Indications

  • Bacterial conjunctivitis
  • Eye infections caused by susceptible bacterial organisms

Dosage & Administration

  • Day 1 & 2: 1 drop every 2 hours while awake (up to 8 times daily)
  • Day 3 to 7: 1 drop up to 4 times daily
  • For external ophthalmic use only
  • Avoid touching dropper tip to prevent contamination

  • Store below 30°C
  • Protect from light
