Timolap Eye Drops

Composition

  • Timolol Maleate – 0.5% w/v
  • Stabilized Oxychloro Complex (as preservative) – 0.005% w/v
  • Sterile Aqueous Base – q.s.

Description

Timolap Eye Drops contain Timolol Maleate, a beta-blocker used to reduce pressure inside the eye. It works by decreasing the production of aqueous humor, thereby lowering intraocular pressure. It is commonly prescribed for glaucoma and ocular hypertension to prevent optic nerve damage and vision loss.

Indications

  • Open-angle glaucoma
  • Ocular hypertension
  • Elevated intraocular pressure

Warnings & Precautions

  • Can be absorbed systemically like oral beta-blockers
  • May cause serious respiratory reactions (bronchospasm)
  • Cardiac effects like slow heart rate may occur
  • Use cautiously in heart or lung disease patients
