Composition

  • Gatifloxacin (as Gatifloxacin Sesquihydrate) – 0.5% w/v
  • Benzalkonium Chloride Solution (Preservative) – 0.02% v/v
  • Sterile Aqueous Base – q.s.

Description

Gatiap-HS Eye Drops contains Gatifloxacin, a fluoroquinolone antibiotic used to treat bacterial eye infections. It works by inhibiting bacterial DNA replication, thereby stopping the growth and spread of infection. It provides effective relief from symptoms like redness, irritation, and discharge.

Indications

  • Bacterial conjunctivitis
  • Eye infections caused by susceptible bacteria
  • Redness, irritation, and discharge due to infection

Dosage & Administration

  • Day 1: Instill 1 drop every 2 hours while awake (up to 8 times)
  • Day 2 to 7: Instill 1 drop 2 to 4 times daily
  • Use as directed by the doctor
  • Avoid touching the dropper tip
  • Complete full course for best results
